2002 Eagle Scouts

New Faces Around The Council

There have been several personnel changes in our council over the past few months including some new faces you will be seeing.  Dennis Luellen has been added to the Concho Valley staff as the Assistant Scout Executive, Michael Mitchell is the new District Executive for the Permian Basin District and Nicky Martinez now serves the Amistad/ Winter Garden Districts.

Dennis Luellen is a Life Scout from the old Adobe Walls Council in Pampa, TX.  He has been on a Philmont trek and to the National Jamboree in 1977.  He has served on many camp staffs, both as a youth and as an adult and volunteered as a Unit Commissioner and Assistant District Commissioner for the Golden Spread Council in Amarillo before becoming a professional Scouter.  Luellen is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow.  Since becoming an executive he has served in Ardmore, OK as a DE, a Senior DE and District Director in Conroe and The Woodlands, TX and as a Field Director for the Sam Houston Area Council in Houston, TX.  He brings a lot of new ideas and a true love of the program to our council and we are very pleased to have him.

Michael Mitchell is an Eagle Scout from the Northwest Texas Council in Wichita Falls, TX and a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University.  Mike grew up in the Scouting program and both of his parents were very active as volunteers. He has served on several camp staffs including Camp Tom Hale and Camp Perkins.  Mike believes in the Scouting program and brings a wealth of enthusiasm to the Permian Basin District.

Nicky Martinez, also an Eagle Scout from the Northwest Texas Council has been relocated from the Permian Basin District to serve Amistad and Winter Garden Districts as a Senior DE.  Nicky is set to face the challenge of delivering the Scouting program to the increasing number of first-generation Americans who live throughout both these districts.
