Gearing Up for The Council will hold its’ annual auction again next year to generate revenue for our ever-growing Scout program. The council will name a chairman soon and will be forming a committee also to begin work. If you would like to serve on this committee, please contact the service center to find out how. The 2006 Auction will be held Saturday, March 25th. The location will be determined by February 1st. Donations are now being accepted. You can donate by calling the Scout Office at 325-655-7107 or 1-800-321-7107. Items that did very well at last year’s auction were vehicles, guns, sporting goods, electronics and computers. |

Friends of Scouting like you have been coming forward this year to make themselves known. So many times in life we wonder how we can make a difference or how we can be heard above the crowd. Joining with others that believe in the values of Scouting is a very important way to meet these objectives. Providing training to new leaders, camperships to needy scouts, insurance to youth and adult members, processing Eagle Scout applications all make the mission of Scouting achievable. All these services and countless program features are made possible by Friends of Scouting like you. Your donations help keep our council strong and independent. If by some chance no one has asked you to be a Friend of Scouting then please consider this a request. As a Friend of Scouting you will provide the resources to change the lives of over 10,000 young people in 2005. A very good return on your commitment no doubt. J. Randall Ross, President of the Concho Valley Council announced that as a result of Executive Committee action taken on October 20, 2005, the Concho Valley Council has established the Scouting Heritage Society. This recognition society is composed of a special group of individuals and families who clearly see the significant benefits of Scouting and believe deeply enough in the Concho Valley Council to invest in its future. Anyone who chooses to may qualify for a Lifetime Membership in the Scouting Heritage Society by making an outright gift to of at least $5000 to the council's endowment or a deferred gift of as little $10,000. Lifetime Membership is also open to those who remember Scouting in their will or add a codicil leaving a gift of $20,000 or more to Scouting. Current James E. West Fellows may include their prior gifts toward their Lifetime Membership in the Scouting Heritage Society. Members of the Founder's Circle and 1910 Society are automatically members.
