K. Wynn Alston
Wynn has now been registered as a Scouter
for over 24 years. He has been involved
with several different units during this
time. Some of the groups that have
benefited from his service include: Explorer
Post 23, Troop 333, and Crew 111. The
district and council has called upon his
leadership and he has been active as staff
for Cub camping weekends, training committee,
camporees and as the master of the Council’s
website. His current role is
as an Amangi Trail District Committee member.
For his leadership, Scouting has awarded
him the Scouter’s Training Award, Boy Scout
Leader Training Award, Order of the Arrow
Vigil Honor and the District Award of Merit.
Besides Scouting, he takes time to support
other community organizations and activities.
He has been an American Red Cross Water
Safety Instructor, a bugler for ceremonies
at Fort Concho, and President of the Omega
Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, the national
service fraternity founded on the principles
and ideals of Scouting.
Wynn’s greatest expertise is in BSA Aquatic
programs. He has served as the Aquatic
Director at five different Boy Scout camps.
His knowledge of skill and safety
makes him a valuable member of the National
Camp School Staff. He represents the
values of Scouting by the giving of himself
to benefit the youth who participate in
Scouting. Little known, is his
commitment to the council as the unofficial
support staff member, often assisting around
the council office with various tasks.

Sarabeth L. Erickson
Sarabeth is a devoted volunteer with
more than two decades of service. She became
involved in Scouting as a Tiger leader starting
in 1982. She later served as a Den
leader and Webelos Leader with Pack 240
of the then Chisholm Trail Council. Her
program abilities were recognized when she
was selected to serve as the Cub Scout Roundtable
Commis- sioner.
Once she moved to San Angelo, Sarabeth
again became an active Scouter. She
has been involved as a District Committee
member, as a trainer, and has given leadership
at our Cub Scout camping weekends. Currently
Sarabeth serves as a Unit Commissioner in
the Amangi Trail District.
Sarabeth is a Lead Cook for the San Angelo
Independent School District. Most of us
have enjoyed a meal that Sarabeth prepared
at an activity at Camp Sol Mayer or Recognition
Dinner. She is active in church where she
teaches Sunday School and works with the
WMU. She has been involved in his
children’s youth activities. Girl
Scout leader, Band Booster, and Choir Booster
Club President are just some of her accomplishments.
For her Scouting leadership she has been
awarded the Commissioner’s Key and the District
Award of Merit. Sarabeth is married to Michael,
a previous recipient of the Silver Beaver.

Christopher Calk
Christopher Calk works as an Emergency
Medical Technician. In his work life
he lives the Boy Scout Motto everyday of
“Be Prepared” and fulfills the slogan “to
do a Good Turn Daily.” He
has supported the district and council by
being involved in Weekend Cub Scout events
and running the rappelling tower at Camp
Sol Mayer. He also helps out at the
First Aid Lodge during various activities.
His Scouting leadership positions have
included: Pack Committee Chairman
of Pack 283, Assistant Scoutmaster and then
Scoutmaster of Troop 283. He is a
Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.
He has been involved in his community
and his children’s activities. These
activities include 4-H, and the Utopia Baptist
Church. During the floods of 2002
Christopher volunteered his service to the
American Red Cross. He has volunteered
at Garner State Park in support of a Bike
Rally. Beyond work and Scouting, Christopher
volunteers with the Utopia Fire Department.
Christopher is married to Carol and they
have 3 children; Nathan, a High School Junior,
Jacob, an Eighth grader and Kate a Third
grader.
