Outdoor Skills Workshop

Picturesque Camp Fawcett re- mains the Jewel of Amistad District. Outdoor Skills Workshop was held at Camp Fawcett July 12th-14th. There were four troops in attendance. A total of 22 Boy Scouts participated. Eleven adults were on staff. We had a small group, yet it was quality time. Brad McCormick served as Camp director.

The Scout Masters taught Merit badges: Indian Lore, Rifle, Ar- chery, First Aide, Fishing, American Culture, Emergency Preparedness and Citizenship in the Community. The Troops cooked in camp. A commissary provided the food. Thursday night was family night. A fun campfire was held followed by an O A Call out. There were numerous visitors in camp for family night.

Camp Sol Mayer—Summer 2006

Three weeks of summer camp at Camp Sol Mayer have now come and gone. The memories gained from those weeks still live on in the Staff, Leaders, and Scouts who where able to attend. With a staff of about 40 well trained Scouts and Scouters, Camp Sol Mayer hosted three great weeks of camp for over 300 people. The program events that took place over those three weeks consisted of Aquatic Activities, Water Front, Shooting Sports, Outdoor Skills, Ecology, Conservation, Fine Arts, Handicrafts, and special events with Golf, Citizenship in the Nation and Space Exploration. The 2006 summer camp season would not be complete without promoting the excellent meals that are provided three times a day by the famous council wide Chefs of Mr. and Mrs. Erickson. The overall consensus of camp for the 2006 season was fun and exciting for everyone who attended one of the three weeks at Camp Sol Mayer. Thank you to all who made Summer Camp a success.
