Amangi
Trail
|
|
The
Amangi Trail mayJuly Camporee, “Back
to Baden Powell”, was held on April
7-9, 2006. Thank you to all who attended
the event it was a great success. It
was a wonderful weekend filled with
excitement. The units were able to experience
the wonders of nature waking up to the
sites and sounds of turkeys and baby
owls. The boys had the chance to learn
scouting skills by participating in
many competitions. Thank you to the
eight Troops who organized events: Troop’s
1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 20, 36, & 340. A
special thanks for Frank Berthold for
volunteering to chair the event. The
total attendance for the weekend was
around 115 people. Congratulations to
the individual units and patrols that
took home awards.
The
Amangi Trail District would like to
take this time to recognize several
new members of the District Committee.
Greg Pecina has signed on to be the
Chairman of Training events and activities
for the District. Alan Larsen is the
Vice Chairman of Program and he will
be helping out with planning and developing
new and exciting up coming events. The
Amangi Trail District is growing and
looking stronger everyday, Thank you
for all your time and support to making
our team a success.

We
have had a lot happen in the Great Permian
Basin District. I would first like to
send out congrats to Jack and Laurie
Smith on their son, Embre achieving
Eagle Scout.
We
will be having our District Committee
Meeting in June at Camp Sol Mayer, due
to Summer Camp.
The
Great Permian Basin District is currently
gearing up for our District Camporee.
It will take place at Camp Sol Mayer
from Aug. 18th-20th. For those who would
like to help with this event (and all
help would be greatly appreciated) please
contact Chris Johnson at 325-277-7189
or 325-392-3254.
For
those leaders who would like to get
trained, please contact me so we can
set up a time and place. Trained leaders
are essential to the success of the
program. Kids deserve trained leaders,
and we can work together to bring that
to them. Please feel free to contact
me at any time to set up a training
workshop.
Finally,
I would like to thank all of the volunteers
in the Great Permian Basin District.
You are all doing a great job, and I
commend you.

District

The
boys are excited about school year ending, vacation,
and summer camp. Be sure long-term summer camp is
in your Troop’s Summer Schedule!!
Amistad
District had an end of school year Roundtable and
Potluck dinner. This took place at the LDS Church
Hall at 7:00 PM. This was the last Roundtable until
August 3, 2006.
The
Amistad District meeting is in Eagle Pass, TX. At
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2055 Williams St.,
Salon De Colores. This location is West of Mall
de las Aguilas parking lot about 3 blocks. All units
please send a representative. The next Amistad District
meeting will be on August 21, 2006, location to
be discussed.
I
would like all the Units to be thinking about who
will be the Popcorn Chairman for the next School
year. Please contact Gerardo Martinez (830) 703-6343,
about when you would like your fall school night
rally.
