New
Composite Materials Merit Badge Available
The
BSA is pleased to announce the new Composite Materials
merit badge, which introduces Boy Scouts to the world
of modern composites. This merit badge lets them experience
firsthand the fun of using composites while exploring
the manufacturing and uses of these fascinating materials.
S couts
also get exposure to a massive industry and the wide
range of career opportunities it has to offer. We might
not think much about it, but composites are all around
us—from canoes, kayaks, golf clubs, and baseball bats
to buildings, aircraft, refrigerators, and amusement
park rides. Modern composite materials help make products
stronger and more durable, lightweight, rustproof, and
stable (resistant to heat, cold, and humidity). The
Composite Materials merit badge pamphlet is available
in the Trading Post.
