New
First Class Requirement The
BSA’s Advancement Committee has announced a new First
Class Rank Requirement. The new requirement is listed
in the 2006 Boy Scout Requirements Book. The New Requirement
is listed as requirement eleven.
It
states, “Tell someone who is eligible to join Boy Scouts,
or an inactive Boy Scout, about your troop’s activities.
Invite him to a troop outing, activity, service project,
or meeting. Tell him how to join, or encourage the inactive
Boy Scout to become active.”
The
New requirement became effective January 1, 2006, Scouts
already working on their First Class Rank prior to this
date will have until June 30, 2006, to complete
the rank without fulfilling requirement 11. All other
Scouts should complete this requirement.
If
the new Scout is recruited then the Recruiter can also
receive the Recruiter Patch for recruiting that new
Scout.
