Update
from the Wahinkto Lodge
Our HEB
Winter Fellowship Camp was a success. We had approximately
80 people attend, and about 13 received Brotherhood
Honor! Peter Perez received the Founder’s Award, which
is given to an arrowman for outstanding service to the
lodge. The National Order of the Arrow Committee created
a new award this year called the Leadership in Service
Award. Those receiving this award are Matt Huro, Jared
Ducote, Nathan Calk, Chris Calk, Dan Walker, Tom McKeel,
Raymond Affleck, Lawson Kemp, David Kemp, Jeremy Graue,
Humberto Torres Jr., Humberto Torres Sr., Matthew Smart,
Chris Johnson, and Peter Perez. Congratulations to all
of our award recipients for their outstanding achievement.
Jerry White, who has been Lodge Advisor over 3 years,
has stepped down and Jared Ducote has been appointed
to fill the big shoes. We hope to see big
things out of Jared, who is an Eagle Scout of Troop
36 and a recipient of the District Award of Merit.

OA elections are
now in progress and the earlier you register the better. The Lodge
will not be performing any elections at summer camp this year, and
remember that the election cannot be done by someone who is in your
troop. All Scoutmasters should have gotten a packet in the mail
with a ton of information. All I ask is that you let the arrowman
in your troop know about all the planned dates and meetings.
This year’s OA Conclave
will be on March 31-April 2. The price is $35 if you pay by March
10, and needs to be sent to the council office pronto. Another big
event for the OA this year is the National Order of the Arrow Conference
or NOAC. This year it will be held in East Lansing, Michigan at
the University of Michigan. Nationals require a down payment of
$100 by February 28, so please get the money to the council office
by February 27, 2006.
Spring Ordeal will
be held at Camp Sol Mayer on April 21-23. I expect a big turn out
this year seeing as how all arrowmen from the past have forgotten
grudges and now wish to help the lodge prosper in its growth. Just
a little heads up call-outs will be on every Friday of the Month
of June at Camp Sol Mayer, if you plan on attending please notify
the council office at least 1 week ahead of time. For now I think
that is all. We should have an Antler sent to all due paying members
of the Lodge by March 5. In case you didn’t know dues are $10, and
need to be paid to the lodge before summer camp. Don’t forget to
visit our website if you need to print out any forms such as NOAC
Registration, Conclave Registration, or Dues Registration.
