As we reach the month of July, the Permian Basin District is slowing narrowing in on its 2007 Friends of Scouting goal.  As of July 15th, 2007 the Permian Basin District is at $22,804.00, leaving us $8,196.00 short of our goal.  As a team our goal is reachable and valuable to the Scouting Program in the Permian Basin.  Below are results of current Unit contributions:  Pack 18    Eldorado, TX $3,885; Troop 18  Eldorado, TX  $450; Pack 19 Sonora, TX $525; Pack 154  Ft. Stockton, TX $545; Pack 155 Big Lake, TX $450 & Pack 153 Ozona, TX  $50.

If you have yet to do a Family Friends of Scouting presentation for your Unit, please contact me so that you can be a part of this worthwhile affair.  All new contributions will be posted in the next addition of our newsletter.  Let’s all work hard to reach our goal!

Many thanks to all who have contributed and assisted in making this happen. Thank you.

Recharter season has come to a close for the year in the Permian Basin District. I would like to thank all the leaders and Chartered Organizations for their prompt and timely attention to this matter.  If for some reason, your unit has not yet rechartered and is still interested in remaining a part of the Boy Scouts of America, please contact me at , so that we may register any remaining interested individuals. As a reminder, beginning this year, all recharters will be done in December.  Its time again to do our Unit ABC Action Plan. I will be in contact with individual units and Unit Commissioners to complete the task of the ABC action plan.  Fall Recruitment is just around the corner and should be a high priority for us all.  Why? Because membership is what keeps Scouting exciting.  Please call me so we can begin planning your Units Fall Recruitment Campaign.

Thank you Ted Hogan, Butch Simpson and David Kemp for blessing us with you presence as Camp Commissioners.  I would like to say a big Thank you to the rest of the staff who worked at Camp, it was a pleasure.
