DISTRICT PINEWOOD DERBY
I would like to send out a big Thank You to all the participants who traveled to the Council Office in March to participate in this years District Pinewood Derby.

Everyone had a great time and no one left empty handed from the event.  All participants received a Pinewood Derby Patch, Certificate, and a good time.

With so many things on our schedules these days, I realize that time is limited for many; however I would like to encourage those units who were not able to attend this year to make plans to attend next years Pinewood Derby.

This gives the boys a chance to meet and mingle with other boys in our District.  As the saying goes:  The more the merrier!

This years Pinewood Derby winners were as followed:

1st place – Clayton Delarosa  Big Lake Pack 155

2nd Place – Baylee Barton  Big Lake Pack 155

     3rd Place – Jacob Peddicord  Pack 155

2007 Permian Basin District Pinewood Derby Participants: (not in any particular order) Clayton Delarosa, Baylee Barton, Jacob Peddicord, Zach Adams, Jake Peterson, Christian Salazar & Damon Martin.

"Boys’ Life benefits Cub Scouts in many ways including:

Advancement-The advancement rate for Boys’ Life subscribers is more than twice that for non-subscribers.

Activities-Survey indicates that approximately 85 percent of Scouting show participants are Boys’ Life subscribers.

Good Reading-Boys’ Life is a good mix of exciting stories and valuable information that makes it fun for Cub Scout-age boys to read. Reading is a survival skill.

Family Support-Parents, brothers, and sisters read Boys’ Life and become more supportive of Scouting.

Longer Tenure-Boys’ Life subscribers stay in scouting an average 2 ½ times longer than non-subscribers."

Talk to your Scout Leader or call the Council office at 800-321-7107 to get a subscription. Boys’ life is a great value at $1.00 per issue. Website www.boyslife.org
