DISTRICT DAY CAMP: The Amangi Trail District Day Camp will be held on July 18, 19, and 20th. The theme this year for Day Camp will be “SPACE”. The three day event will be at the Goodfellow Recreational Camp. Any Cub Scout in the area is welcome to attend. Please be on the lookout for more details to come to your Unit Leader soon. You can also call the Council Office to receive more information about this district activity.

Training is important please make sure the leadership in your unit is up to date with all of the current rules and regulations. Call your District Training Chairman to see when the next Outdoor Leadership Skills or Basic Leader Training will be scheduled.

Support your District by scheduling your next event with us today. If you have a Banquet or Court of Honor coming up please let your District Executive know by calling (325) 277-5712 or (325) 655-7107 ext 30 or (Email: ). The Amangi Trail District would like to thank and recognize all volunteers that have been attending the roundtables over the last couple of months. A special thanks goes out to several Boy Scouts in the Amangi Trail District (Troop 7 - Holland Cogdell, Will Cogdell, Jeremy Dougherty, Phillip Robinson - Troop 20 - Michael Petrazzuolo, Ealih Fowler – Troop 340 - Carlos Ramirez, Andrew Romero, Colin Zamrippa) for their proven hard work and service on the 28th of March at the Friends of Scouting Community Breakfast held at the First United Methodist Church in San Angelo.

CENTENNIAL QUALITY UNIT AWARD: Centennial Quality Unit Awards is the new way to honor units for doing a good Job. In order to qualify for this award you must schedule a meeting with your District Executive. Every unit needs to establish goals for the 2007 year by talking with your District Executive. Call today to start the Centennial Quality Unit Award process. Thank you to all the units that I have already met with.

RECHARTERS: A reminder February and March recharters are now OVER DUE. April recharters are about to close. Please contact your District Executive as soon as possible to check on the status of your charter paper work. Your unit should start working on updating rosters and turning new forms into the council office, if you have not already done so. Please note that our District would like to change all recharter dates to December. This will allow the District to serve each unit in a more timely and effective manner. Keeping your Pack, Troop, or Crew current with the councils’ data will ultimately streamline the recharter process and help us to support you better.

DISTRICT COMMITTEE: The District Committee is working hard to find individuals of good character willing to support the District and serve on the District as a Chairman, or Commissioner. We appreciate every scouting volunteer for all of his or her hard work. We all know that scouting is a community and family run organization and we would not be able to support today’s youth without your help. Events like Day Camp, and the District Pinewood Derby will not happen without volunteers to support and chair these events. Become involved and work with the District to make these events more successful. (Continued on Page 9)
