District Banquet
On January 26, 2008, the Permian Basin District held its annual District Banquet in Ozona, Texas. This years District Award of Merit recipients were Melvin Conner from Ozona and Larry Trimble from Junction. Their outstanding service to scouting and the community has helped to encourage all those around them. Asking nothing in return for their service, these two gentlemen paved the way for others. So it is with great pleasure that the Permian Basin bestow on them the District Award of Merit. It was known from the beginning that neither one of these gentlemen were in the program for the recognition but rather for “the boys”. It is this great attitude that has made them both a success in scouting and a symbol of altruism. It is due to volunteer hard work and time that Scouting is possible in the Permian Basin. So thank you to all the volunteers of the Permian Basin District for a job well done in 2007. This year’s 2008 District Banquet Chairmen was Linda Conner and her
assistants, who did a wonderful job in making the Permian Basin District Banquet possible. Thank you so much for a wonderful job!
If you are interested in hosting the next District Banquet in your community you may contact me @
for information on how to make it possible. The Permian Basin would be more than happy to hear your ideas and thoughts. (Continued on Page 13.)
