Commissioner's Corner
Dear Scouter,
The opportunity will soon be here to re-new our commitment, gain knowledge, and help ourselves to become an effective Commissioner.
Volunteering is the first step in a journey that leads us to committed Unit service. I will soon provide a schedule for Commissioner training. I encourage you to volunteer for Commissioner Service. I am committed to give all new and old Commissioners the tools you need in 2008. Soon, I will send out a flyer encouraging your involvement in The College of Commissioner Science, held at Colorado City, March 28th-30th.
Contact Your District Commissioner, and say, "I need guidance" or call the Council Office at 325-655-7107 or 800-321-7107 or email
. Your District Commissioners are: Tim L. Vasquez
(Amangi), John Fluth (Permian Basin), Gary Burt (Amistad)
Daniel Anderson,

. . .those who need to reapply in order to maintain registration. Your prompt return of these applications completed is vital to our District Operations, as well as to your position. If you receive an application and need assistance or have a question, please contact Roberta at
. I will be glad to help you.
Permian Basin Friends of Scouting 2008
As most know our Friends of Scouting has kicked off for the 2008-year and most of us have started preparing for individual unit Family FOS presentations, as well as a Community FOS breakfasts or lunch. As we go thru these next few months carrying out the Friends of Scouting Campaign I would like to remind everyone to keep focus on the meaning of this campaign. Without Friends of Scouting our District and Communities would lack some fundamental resources provided thru Friends of Scouting. If I have
not discussed Friends of Scouting dates with your unit, I will be contacting you shortly. Family Friends of Scouting presentations can be done at your annual Pinewood Derby or Blue and Gold in 10 short minutes. This concept seems to work best for all. If anyone is willing to assist and volunteer in helping me arrange presentations or know of someone willing to do presentations please contact me at
. It would be most appreciated.
