Community Friends of Scouting

Each of us supports Scouting given our specific talents. These talents take many forms. Some of us use the talents we have developed over a lifetime of education and practice in our vocation. The use of these talents are appreciated and rewarded on a regular basis with a paycheck. Of course the demands for a share of this are endless. The ability to earn an income allows us to spend the time and money on those individuals and causes we hold dear to our hearts.

As parents we hold our children near and dear to our hearts.While our children grow into adults we are assisted in their development by various people and organizations. For this aid in building the character of the next generation we are rightly thankful. We in turn express this gratitude with our gifts of time and money to further the mission of these groups. For many this is the root cause of their volunteerism and/or their financial contributions to Scouting.

Now that we have taken a moment to understand one of the possible motivations to become a Friend of Scouting it is now time to act on it. All across the council in each community, pack or troop you and your neighbors will have the opportunity to hear the “Scouting story.” Then you and they will be asked to become a Friend of Scouting. Please give what your heart wants you to contribute. It will be truly appreciated.
