2009 Summer Camp - Sign up today.
Summer Camp is on for 2009. There will have two weeks of camp - June 14-20 and 21-27.  40+ merit badges will be offered along with great food and good fellowship.  Camp Sol Mayer is known for these things as well as an excellent 1st-year camper program and our West Texas Ranch Adventure for the older Scouts. Plans are underway to insure that these traditions continue this year. The leaders guide will be available on the Concho Valley Council website within a few weeks.

Many members of the Order of the Arrow and others have volunteered their time to help make this possible.  Special thanks to each and every one of them for this incredible gesture.  There are still staff positions available. In addition to staff, there are still several needs we have at camp to be able to put on a quality program. Rowboats, lifejackets, shotgun targets and shells are just a few examples of items needed for this year's summer camp. A full list of needs can be found on the council website.  Please let us know if you can help us with any of these needs.

Notes from Ranger Mike
With deer season over both CSM and CF are back open for camping. Units wishing to use either camp feel free to call me for weekend dates and program ideas.  Troops planning weekend campouts don't forget we have shooting sports, canoes, tower/ climbing wall , horsemanship, overnight trail rides or hiking on the ranch. This is a great opportunity for the youth and leaders to prepare for summer camp please call me in advance so I can have certified instructors to help with the program.      

CSM is in need of a good used 3 or 4 ton outside A/C unit for the camp office. We did our Annual pre camp inspection at CSM this past week and listed repairs needing to be done this spring. I will have a list of  projects available in the next few days for anyone interested any helping out at camp.  The spring ordeal weekend is April 3-5th for all OA members.  Our spring workday is April 25th all scouts youth and adults are welcome to campout over the weekend at no charge with lunch on Saturday provided for all workers.
