Concho Valley Scout Auction

The Concho Valley Council Boy Scout Auction held on August 8 under the leadership of John Landers and his tireless auction committee was a huge success. Netting over $12,000 to help maintain a reasonably priced camping program for the youth of our council.  Among the many items auctioned were a school bus, a ski boat, lawn equipment, desks, canoes, gift certificates and even a live goat.  There were bargains galore.

The committee decided to make this an annual event, but at a cooler time of year.  The 1999 “Spring Cleaning Auction” will be held March 27.  Donations are requested  especially items such as boats, guns, cars, gocarts, lawn equipment, tools, office furniture and equipment and sports items.

Remember the Boy Scouts as you clean your attics, garages and warehouses.  Share this information with your family, friends and business associates who may have items they would like to donate.

Mark your calendar and plan to attend this fun event.  There will be refreshments available  and you could go home with a bargain.

To make donations,  volunteer to be on the auction committee or just want additional information call the Council Service Center.
