What a special way to remember or honor a special person.  The promises of Scouting continues like an eternal flame.

Please be assured that we shall count it as a sacred trust to invest this gift in the lives of youth in such fashion that it will truly prove an enduring and noble monument to the one who deserves our highest tribute.

Friends of Scouting

Every year boys join Scouts to have fun outdoors.  Every year thousands of boys learn valuable lessons that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.  Boys and their families pay the direct costs of scouting – uniform, registration fees, Boys Life, summer camp registration, and weekend camping costs.  However, the OTHER, indirect costs of scouting are paid for by the Concho Valley Council.

It costs the Concho Valley Council almost $100 a year to keep a boy in Scouts – activities, marketing, training, camp maintenance, record keeping, awards maintenance, videos, repairs, equipment replacement, program literature, professional help – these are just a few of the things that the Council provides at no charge to the unit or the scout.

This year the Concho Valley Council must raise $173,000 just to pay our fair share of the costs of the program.   Won’t you do your part by making your own pledge today or by scheduling a Family FOS presentation for your unit?  Remember, the more money we can raise, the more boys will be helped by Scouting.

It’s time for the HEB Fellowship weekend again.  All Arrowmen should attend this event; there will be food, fun, and games, not to mention fellowship, training, and ELECTIONS! ! !  In addition, if you have not yet sealed your membership, and have been a member for at least 10 months, you need to undertake your Brotherhood during the weekend.  Assistance will be provided for those who wish to study and seal their Brotherhood in the Order.   Cost is $25 for the weekend, $35 if you are undergoing your Brotherhood membership, and includes food, patch, sash where applicable, and most importantly, your 2000 membership registration.

All Arrowmen who are NOT attending the HEB fellowship weekend need to pay their $5 membership fees for the year 2000 at the council office no later than December 29th.  Anyone not registered on January 1st will be dropped from the rolls and will be asked to remove the OA pocket flap from their uniform.  Remember, anyone who has ever been a member of the OA is eligible to join Wahinkto Lodge.  All former members, youth and adult, are urged to renew their membership now.
